You can't beat a good book

When it comes to learning, sometimes you just can't beat a good book. Last week I reread VB.Net In A Nutshell. I had purchased it a couple years ago when I was first learning .Net. My guess is that at the time a lot of the advanced content went over my head. Things like delegates for example. This time around things were much easier to comprehend. I've done a couple of phone interviews lately. The kind where they try to determine if you're a wannabe with a degree or actually know something about .Net. Interviews like that can be a bit humbling, especially when the interviewer really knows his stuff. However, it's worth a little humiliation to discover things you need to brush up on or learn for the first time. So lately I've been practicing working with delegates, and events, XML, reflection, and the like. That's why I reread the VB book. Tomorrow I plan on picking up or ordering a copy of C# 3.0 In a Nutshell because sometimes you just can't beat a good book.
